One of my favorite mysteries of all time. Well written and tautly paced, The Dead Guy is impossible to put down. As his lifeblood ticks away, Jack Thigpen tries to track down his best friend's killer. The Dead Guy is funny, wise, and suspenseful.

This is a very good read. The plot moves at a good pace and keeps you on your toes trying to fathom the ending. It is hard to believe that this is a first novel. I am anxiously awaiting the next book by this author as I am sure a talent of the caliber will have a lengthy history of novels. Thanks for an engrossing read.

Kurt Kamm has gotten into the wildland fire scene in such depth that you feel he must be a fireman who has fought hundreds of these awful battles. In addition, he creates highly memorable characters. The only problem is that the book ends. You don't want it to end without knowing more about what happens to all of the people you have gotten to know so well. Red Flag Warning is a totally absorbing read. This is fiction with stark frightening reality. You will chew through it like a great piece of home made pie.

Red Flag Warning has also received honorable mention in the Public Safety Writers Association 2010 Writing Competition.
