March 24, 2009   The following review is for Balkan Caesar by Peter Lucas:

"Ever wonder what books to buy to entertain yourself and learn from them at the same time? Peter Lucas has the answers in this compelling novel of war, intrigue and romance that no one who starts it will be able to put down. His knowledge of his subject is profound, and his compassion for the people—Americans and Albanians—who live in the pages of Balkan Caesar is utterly moving. The novel is powerfully written and it may become one of your most riveting and memorable reading experiences. It lingers in the mind as only the very best books can. If Peter Lucas is to be compared to other writers he must be put into the brilliant company of Ismail Kadare and Ernest Hemingway. I cannot recommend this novel too highly. Lucas deserves my ultimate praise."

---Fatos Tarifa, former Albanian Ambassador to the United States
